DME operates a Healthy and Safety Policy which includes House Rules and Operator Requirements. This document is available if required. The Policy is used to introduce all new employees to matters relating to safety and emphasises their responsibilities. All occupational health and safety aspects are directed at hazard identification. Once identified these hazards must be the eliminated, isolated or minimised. Hazard identification is considered an on going and integral aspect of the Safety Policy.
The document also covers expected standards of behaviour, machine care and personal protection. Material Safety Data Sheets are provided for materials commonly used and information on LTSA over dimension vehicle load requirements.
DME takes safety issues of prime importance and expects its staff to be equally committed. DME can produce site specific safety policies addressing any site specific hazards and any environmental, resource consent or stakeholder impact issues as required. It will also address any traffic control issues and minimisation of dust and noise.
